Foundation piecing is a techniques whereby the design is printed on a
foundation (cloth, paper, interfacing) and by following the correct
number order and sewing on the printed lines. You can create some
wonderful varied and intricate designs that are better served with this
method for accuracy than traditional methods. The technique does
sacrifice some fabric to gain the complex points and shapes and speed of
the process.
